Static IP Address- The same IP address is assigned automatically each and every time your ADSL/ADSL2+ modem connects to the Internet, a static IP address is essential if you wish to have Internet facing services from your local network.

ie. Mail Server, VPN connection, Remote Administration, Terminal Services, VoIP telephones.
